A few practical answers for your first Yunnan journey.
How many days should I allow for Yunnan?
Seven days gives you a brisk introduction. Around ten days allows more time for Kunming, Dali, Lijiang and Shangri-La. We plan arrival and transfer days honestly, so your schedule has room for the places you want to enjoy.
Can I change the route and hotels?
A private journey can be adjusted around your dates, interests, hotel preferences and pace. Small-group departures follow a scheduled route with less flexibility. We'll explain the choices before you book.
Should I include Shangri-La or Meili?
Shangri-La adds Tibetan cultural sites and highland landscapes. Meili requires additional road time and overnight planning. Both involve higher elevations; tell us about your comfort with altitude when discussing your route.
When is a good time to visit?
Spring and autumn are popular starting points, but weather varies between lakeside Dali and the higher mountain areas. We'll check your dates against the places you plan to visit. Mountain views depend on weather and cannot be guaranteed.
What will my quote include?
